Around Manaslu, "Mountain of the Spirit"
29th November 2009
I'm just back from a magical three weeks in Nepal, a country and people that gets harder and harder to leave with every visit. This time I joined an organised trek around Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain on the planet. Almost every day was better than the last, with new and even more stupendous views and friendly locals around every corner.
Not that we followed it (none of the maps agreed for starters!) but if you are interested then here's our original itinerary: -

And here's the group. Great bunch of people and for the first time ever I was the youngest on trek!! : -

Snapshots: -
I've put a few snapshots from my digital compact camera (now held together with Duck tape!) at the following two links. I'm really pleased with some of them but waiting to scan some photo's from my film camera before deciding what to put on my gallery page proper: -
People Gallery (1 page of thumbnails).
Places Gallery (2 pages of thumbnails).
Keep an eye on my gallery page for a pick of the best from this trip. Next weekend a friend has kindly agreed to lend me his high quality film scanner and so hopefully you'll see something very soon after that :-)
I'll see you soon!
